Today, I made my way to Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett Street, just off of Cork City Center, where I bought a Yamaha FG Junior to accompany me during my stay here in Ireland. The Junior is a small traveling guitar, that packs light… about half it’s parental unit sizes (to give you an idea, there is a picture below of Junior next to my full size fiddle… Not much bigger). It has a good sound (particularly for the price I paid) and I was given by the shop keeper a nice set of D’Adarrio strings to bring out a little warmth that will match my voice. I am happy with Junior and spent the afternoon getting acquainted. I am sure Junior will make more appearances here on Rambling Rose as time goes, along with Pimpernel, the fiddle (yes, I am one of those ridiculous people who gives names to personally valued “inanimate” objects).
Hope all is well with you out there!
