Going to NYU!!!

GlucksmanHouse

Hello Friends,

Some of you may have heard whispers and rumors over the months that I have been considering going to NYU this coming Fall. I officially have been invited to the Irish Studies Program and have accepted the offer along with a scholarship to cover fifty percent of my tuition! This is a great opportunity for me not only as an academic but as a musician and artist. I will be working with some of the worlds greatest academics on Irish and Irish American culture, as well as working with and meeting the best in contemporary Irish music. This will inform and influence not only my academic work but my music. I will be under the guidance of Professor Mick Moloney, world renowned Irish musician and ethnomusicologist to expand my research done as an undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz. I will be the first student in the program with a background in anthropology and ethnographical work. This is a great opportunity and I am very grateful and excited to become a part of this program.

But, while I am guaranteed and heavy amount of funding for tuition, funds to get TO New York is up to me. This is where I need your help. I have set up a GoFundMe page to raise these funds so that I can get to New York and begin a new chapter of my education and musical experiences. You can read all about it (and the prizes) here. Every little bit counts, so don’t hold back! 🙂

Thank you so much for the support. Please feel free to share the project with your friends on Facebook.

(If you would like to read more about my academic endeavors you can find it here, “The Academic“)
